il colore giusto - the right color

Per quanto strano possa sembrare le immagini della BMW sono assolutamente in linea con i contenuti di questo blog.

Qualche settimana fa ho avuto modo di visionare dal vivo lo splendido esempio di "Art Car", opera di Jeff Koons, durante la retrospettiva a lui dedicata, al Centre Georges Pompidou, a Parigi. Quando l'ho vista ho pensato che fosse perfetta per descrivere in cosa consista il mio lavoro di progettazione del colore.

Osservando la BMW nera, a sinistra della foto, noterete come le linee ed i volumi risultino ben definiti. 

Osservando la "Art Car" noterete invece come sia difficile avere una lettura immediata delle linee e come su queste prevalga il senso del volume. 

Ciò dipende dal fatto che il colore può modificare la nostra percezione degli oggetti e dello spazio.

Noterete inoltre come le fasce irregolari di colore diano la sensazione come se si fossero incollate addosso all'"Art Car" a causa dell'elevata velocità raggiunta mentre attraversa lo spazio. L'impressione che suscita quindi è di grande potenza. Questo significa che il colore trasmette valori, significati. 

Oltre la sensazione di potenza, un colore o combinazioni di colori possono trasmettere sicurezza, benessere, comfort, eleganza, gioia, opulenza, tristezza, insicurezza, scarsità, ecc. 

Il mio lavoro di progettazione del colore consiste quindi nell'individuare i punti di forza di un oggetto, di uno spazio o di un contesto e svilupparne il potenziale sia che si tratti di 

un nuovo progetto, sia che si tratti di un restyling. Nell'ultimo caso il colore costituisce anche il metodo più economico per dare nuova linfa sia agli interni, che agli esterni che allo spazio urbano.

Strange as it may seem the images of the BMW are absolutely in line with the contents of this blog.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to watch the splendid example of "Art Car", by Jeff Koons, during the retrospective dedicated to him at the Centre Georges Pompidou, in Paris. When I saw it I thought it was perfect to describe what constitutes my work of color design.

Looking at the BMW in black, you will notice how the lines and volumes are clearly defined and how difficult is to have an immediate reading, in the "Art Car", where prevail the sense of volume.

This depends on the fact that the color can change our perception of objects and space.

You will also notice how the irregular bands of color give the feeling as if they were glued to the "Art Car" because of the speed reached as it passes through the space. The impression you get is therefore of great power. This means that the color transmits values, meanings.

Besides the feeling of power, a color or color combinations can convey safety, welfare, comfort, elegance, joy, wealth, sadness, insecurity, scarcity, etc.

My work  of color design consists to identify the strengths of an object, a space or context and develop its potential whether it is a new project or a restyling. In the latter case the color is also the most economical way to give new life to both the interior, which to outsiders that the urban space.

in balcone come al parco... o quasi - in the balcony as the park... or almost

Magari sino ad ora non lo avrete considerato in quest'ottica ma il balcone di casa, anche se a scala ridotta, può trasformarsi in un angolo verde e farci sentire praticamente come al parco.

Attenzione ho scritto parco e non foresta!

Spesso infatti vedo balconi stracolmi di piante distribuite senza regola e che lasciano poco spazio all'uomo. L'effetto è di grande disordine e sporcizia. Ed il balcone, come qualsiasi altro spazio della casa, deve essere facilmente lavabile.

Come operare dunque la trasformazione del vostro balcone?

1) Liberandolo da tutte le cose che non siano funzionali allo scopo (spesso i balconi sono utilizzati come ripostiglio all'aperto).

2) Scegliere piante di varietà ed altezze diverse.

3) Selezionare un quantitativo limitato di piante -quindi non ammassarle- affinché ci possa prendere cura di ciascuna di esse evitando inutili e pericolosi salti agli ostacoli.

4) Prediligere vasi sollevati da terra in modo da lasciar libero il pavimento per la pulizia limitando i vasi bassi alle piante più pesanti.

5) Nel caso in cui in famiglia vi siano dei bambini piccoli dotare il parapetto di rete a maglia piccola.

6)Posizionare le sdraio e godersi il risultato ottenuto.

Maybe until now you have not considered in this context but the balcony of the house, though on a smaller scale, can be transformed into a green corner and made us feel almost like at the park. 

Warning I wrote park, no forest! 

In facts often I see balconies overflowing with plants distributed without regulation and space for man. The effect is of great disorder and dirt. And the balcony, like any other space of the house, should be easily washable. 

Well how to operate the transformation of your balcony? 

1) Freeing it from all the things that are not functional to the desired result (in fact often the balconies are used as outdoors storage). 

2) Choosing a variety of plants and in different heights. 

3) Selecting a limited quantity of plants so you can take care of each of them avoiding unnecessary and dangerous  obstacles jump. 

4) Prefering pots off the ground limiting low plants heavier. 

5) In the event there is, in the family, a child use a balcony guarding mesh.

6) Place the deck chairs and enjoy the result.

un tocco di colore nelle giornate d'autunno

La casa è come un abito. Avvolgente e comodo o almeno così dovrebbe essere. Allo stesso modo in cui scegliamo i capi che indossiamo dobbiamo scegliere gli elementi di arredo. Sappiamo che l'abito è sempre rappresentativo di qualcosa: del lavoro, della personalità o dello stato d'animo di chi lo indossa. Il principio è valido anche per gli ambienti della nostra casa. Per questo motivo dovrebbero sempre essere arredati con gusto e soprattutto in maniera gioisa.  Una camera cupa di certo non contribuisce allo stato d'animo. A maggior ragione nelle giornate d'autunno in cui le ore di luce solare diminuiscono.
Come portare un po' di luce e di allegria in casa?
Il mio consiglio è quello di introdurre dei tocchi di colore perchè, come ho già scritto in precedenza (per leggere il post cliccare qui), se utilizzato in maniera corretta assolve perfettamente entrambi gli scopi.
Via libera quindi ai tessuti dalle tinte vivaci ed a qualche pennellata di colore alle pareti.

a touch of color in autumn days

The house is like a dress. Snug and comfortable, or at least it should be. In the same way we choose the garments that wear we have to choose the furniture. We know that the dress is still representative of something: the work of the personality or mood of the wearer. The principle is also valid for the rooms of our house. For this reason should always be furnished with taste and fun. A dark room certainly does not contribute to the mood. Even more so in the autumn days when the hours of sunlight decrease.

How to bring a little 'light and joy in the house?

My advice is to introduce touches of color because, as I have written before (read the post here), if used correctly performs well both purposes.

Go ahead and then to the vibrant fabrics and a few splashes of color on the walls.
